CLERIC FROM CANINE-PISCOPAL CHURCH WEDS GAY
PRIESTS
Los Angeles, CA,
June 3, 2004: In a
surprise, and somewhat defiant move, the Bishop of Caninepiscopal in
Los Angeles has blessed the NIPtuals of two priests. "They
have loved each other for decades, and it is only right that they be
allowed to enjoy the blessing of muttrimony," Bishop Foster
announced.
This is the first
time a Bishop has officiated at a gay wedding since the council made
the practice legitimate last summer.
There is some
controversy surrounding his decision among the flock. "This violates the
principles we hold dear," Violet Chihuahua said in an interview.
"We expect our priests to be with young dogs only, and certainly not
be marrying them! What's our world coming to?"
"I
am outraged!" Henry Percival con-curred. "Priests should never
marry each other! Where will our choir boys go for, um,
comfort?"
While many have
expressed this negative view, others have roundly applauded Bishop
Foster. "He is taking a very brave position on this issue, and
I for one, think it's pawsitively terrific! If the couple is
happy who are we to deny them the same rights the rest of us have? In
fact, it means our pups will be safer."
